Elif Buse Doğan, recently adorned the stage in Paris in accordance with UNESCO’s spirit of commemorating Âşık Veysel in 2023, and continued her musical journey at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York. The artist presented a mesmerizing performance consisting of folk songs echoing in the historic venue to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Last week, she enchanted the Parisian audience by interpreting the timeless works of the master folk poet Âşık Veysel.
Elif Buse Doğan captivated the audience on December 15th at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan with the support of a symphony orchestra. The event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the Consulate General of Turkey in New York, and the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC), received great acclaim. Regarding this significant occasion, Doğan said, “It was truly an honor to sing folk songs accompanied by a symphony orchestra at Carnegie Hall as part of the ‘100 Years of Folk Songs’ project. We joyfully celebrated the 100th anniversary of our Republic together with the Turkish community in New York. As young people, we will always work together everywhere to strengthen the fundamental values of our Republic. I extend my respects to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Great Leader, and all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland.”
